Operator Editor at Large
We're hiring an Operator Editor at Large to lead The Operator — our long-form playbook column. You will be a working or recently-working multi-unit operator who has run service, owned a P&L, and is excited to translate that experience into writing that helps other operators. This is not a typical journalism role. It is a player-coach role: half writing, half mentoring the rest of our editorial team on the operator perspective. We expect at least one filed piece a week and ongoing source/operator-network development.

Salary: $140,000 - $180,000

Responsibilities:
- Write the weekly Operator playbook
- Coach the rest of the editorial team on operator perspective and craft
- Maintain and expand the operator network we draw from for sources
- Co-host a quarterly invite-only operator dinner in NYC, LA, or London
- Contribute to the founding of TableTransfers Live (annual conference)
Requirements:
- 8+ years operating restaurants, hotels, or hospitality groups
- At least 3 years in a multi-unit role with full P&L ownership
- Demonstrated writing ability (we will read 1,500 words of yours)
- Excellent judgment on what is and isn't a useful playbook
- Comfort being publicly identified with strong operator opinions
