Terms of Service

Welcome to TableTransfers

Thank you for using TableTransfers. These terms set out the agreement between you and us — the people behind the daily newsletter, the editorial archive, and the restaurant-for-sale marketplace at tabletransfers.com.

This document is a starting-point template. It will be reviewed by counsel before TableTransfers operates as a registered business. Treat it as informational, not as a final legally reviewed agreement.

What we mean

  • “We”, “our”, “us” refers to TableTransfers (the company operating tabletransfers.com).
  • “Services” means our website, newsletters, paid subscription, restaurant-for-sale marketplace, valuation calculator, and any other product we ship under the TableTransfers brand.
  • “You”, “your” refers to the people and organizations who use our Services.

Account terms

  1. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
  2. You may not use our Services to scrape content at machine scale, redistribute editorial content without permission, or otherwise breach the conditions of your subscription tier.
  3. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including content you post.
  4. You must be a human. Accounts created by automation are not permitted.

Payments, refunds, and plan changes

  1. The free tier is genuinely free. We do not require a credit card and we do not sell your data.
  2. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your Account → Subscription page.
  3. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
  4. All fees are exclusive of taxes; we collect taxes where required by law and remit them to the relevant authority.
  5. Existing paid subscriptions retain the refund terms presented when they were purchased. Making editorial articles free to read does not change rights that already accrued under those terms. For refund requests, see our Help Center.

Cancellation and termination

  1. You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
  2. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these terms, including but not limited to abusive behavior toward our staff or other readers, attempts to defraud the Service, or material violation of our acceptable-use policy.
  3. We retain your basic account record after cancellation for the period required by tax and accounting law. Beyond that period, content and personal data are deleted.

The marketplace

The restaurant-for-sale marketplace operated by TableTransfers is a listing and discovery service. It is not a brokerage. Where licensed brokerage services are required by law, TableTransfers introduces buyers and sellers to licensed partner brokers in the relevant jurisdiction.

  1. Listings are submitted by sellers (or their representatives). We review listings for completeness and basic plausibility; we do not independently verify revenue, EBITDA, or any other claim.
  2. Buyers are responsible for their own due diligence.
  3. Transactions take place directly between buyer and seller (or their licensed broker). TableTransfers is not a party to any transaction.

Modifications to the Service and prices

  1. We will keep the Services running for as long as TableTransfers operates. From time to time we may modify or retire features.
  2. Pricing for new subscribers may change. Existing subscribers receive at least 30 days’ notice of any price change that affects their plan.

Uptime, security, and privacy

  1. The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
  2. We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, regular backups, and access controls. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
  3. We use third-party vendors to operate the Services (hosting, email delivery, payments, analytics). The current list of subprocessors is available on request.

Copyright and content ownership

  1. Content you submit to the Services (comments, listings) remains yours. You grant us a limited license to display and distribute it as part of the Services.
  2. All TableTransfers editorial content — articles, newsletters, the Mise framework essays — is owned by TableTransfers. Republication requires permission.
  3. Our marks, design system, and code are owned by TableTransfers and are not licensed to you by virtue of your use of the Services.

Liability

We do our best, but we cannot guarantee outcomes. TableTransfers is not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including reliance on editorial coverage for any operating, investing, or transactional decision.
